Biography
Sally Grumbridge
Born in Kuwait 1952
Lives & works in West London

Personal experience, cultural or historical subjects often form the basis of Sally's art. Her work is diverse and she loves experimenting with styles and techniques. Colour is one of her main driving forces and for some paintings she purposely uses a limited palette. She often uses life studies or photography as a starting point and, by distorting or deconstructing the images, tries to create an interesting ambiguity in the final piece. When painting, she works mainly in oils but often incorporates mixed media into her work. In recent years, Sally has been doing more printmaking, mainly working in itaglio and relief processes and concentrating on using non-toxic mediums. As well as making art for exhibition, she has helped run art workshops for Crisis and teaches Adult Printmaking at Kite Studios in West London.
